A sum of Rs.30 crore would be set apart for the Kerala State Information Technology Mission which was the nodal agency for e-governance programmes.

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Management which is the main agency for research studies and experiments in the IT sector would get Rs.9 crore.

The Akshaya project would get Rs.3 crore and Akshaya entrepreneurs Rs.2 crore as special assistance.

The inter-university centre for study and research in Malayalam, to be established in the University of Kerala, had been given a seed money of Rs.10 crore.

Rs.10 crore for science and technology park in capital:A science and technology research park would be set up adjacent to the College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram,Rs.10 crore had been allocated for this.

A transport research centre with a test track facility will be set up inside the college and Rs.5 crore had bees set apart for this.

The Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment will get Rs.24 crore

Centre for Earth Science Studies, the Centre for Water Resources Management, Kerala Forest Research Institute, National Transportation Planning and Research Centre, Tropical Botanical Garden and Research Institute, and the Kerala Sanitation Mission will share Rs.22 crore.

Thiruvananthapuram Road Package of Rs. 250 crores.

Pointing out that a strong research and development support would be necessary for the Comprehensive Road Renovation Project, the Minister said that a research centre with test track would be started at the College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, with an initial outlay of Rs.5 crore.

The Kerala Highway Research Institute would be made the headquarters of the Design Research and Investigation Quality (DRIQ) Board, which would take care of quality control and preparation of the detailed project report, he said, setting apart Rs.5 crore for the purpose.

A sum of Rs.5 crore has been allocated for a Life Science Park in the capital.

A Neo-natalogy ICU would be set up in Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. A new mortuary would also be opened there.

The Institute for Communicative and Cognitive Neurosciences , Thiruvananthapuram, would get Rs.3 crore.

National Institute for Speech and Hearing would be given Rs.4 crore as special grant.

Rs.150 crore for taking up work connected with the first phase of the Vizhinjam International Container Trans-shipment Terminal.

Rs.4.5 crore for the Information Kerala Mission

Rs.10 crore for the Capital City Development Programme.
